Our story

The outbreak of COVID-19 and the subsequent global pandemic it has caused has forced our future into uncertainty. We were due to reopen our doors in July, following a major redevelopment that has seen a new brand, and new and updated galleries.

All progress made by our staff, volunteers and collaborators has taken a massive hit and as such, we currently don't know when we'll be reopening again. We're trying really hard to move the project forward but with limited cash flow and a huge loss in revenue the longer we are closed, the more uncertain our future becomes.

Our museum aims to inspire, educate, as well as assure everyone of their own agency in healthcare. Our galleries, learning programmes and community outreach are designed and built with the the future in mind. We use the history of health and medicine to inspire the next generation of doctors, nurses, scientists and other healthcare workers that keep the nation healthy.

Your donation will bring us closer to assuring the public that we can reopen and continue to support, advocate and celebrate the healthcare sector and those who have shaped it - past, present and future.
